BEFORE THE DAWN

Before The Dawn, uma dança de metamorfose, onde as trevas se transformam em luz.
Através da sua própria transformação, Yumiko Yoshioka ilumina segredos nos nossos corpos. Criaturas ocultas nas nossas lembranças esquecidas, alegremente começam a reviver. Algo grotesco, mas estranhamente bonito capta a nossa atenção. Não podemos evitar ser cativados por esta força estranha, uma fonte de trevas e de luz.

Yumiko Yoshika coreografia, interpretação, formação, direcção artística. Nasceu em Tóquio, reside na Alemanha desde 1988.
No início dos anos setenta e oitenta pertenceu à primeira companhia feminina de dança Butoh, ARIADONE.
Em 1978, dançou com Ko Murobushi e Carlotta Ikeda em “Le Dernier Eden” (em Paris), a primeira coreografia de Butoh fora do Japão. De 1988 a 1994, foi um membro activo da companhia de teatro japonesa e alemâ “Tatoeba ? THEATRE DANSE Grotesque” com Minako Seki e Ra’i delta.
Em 1995, Yumiko fundou o grupo de arte e formação “TEN PEN Chii art labour” com o artista visual Joachim Manger (Alemanha) e compositor de música, Zam Johnson (E.U.A.). TEN PEN Chii tem sede em Schloss Broellin (Castelo de Broellin), Arte Internacional de Pesquisa Local, situado na parte nordeste da ex?Alemanha Oriental. Yumiko pesquisa a interactividade entre a dança, o espaço e a arte visual, afastando?se da dança Butoh convencional. Ela explora novas zonas de interactividade entre o corpo e artes cénicas nas suas colaborações com Joachim Manger e outros artistas. TEN PEN Chii tem criado uma série de obras, como “N. Yoin” (1996), “DA-PPI” (1998), “I-ki, uma máquina de dança interativa do corpo” (1999), “Test Labour” (2000) “Minus Alpha” (2002), Waku Déjà “Furu-Zoom” (2005, em colaboração com Susanne Linke) “SU-i” (2006), “Vu” (2007), “KET – SUI “(2008), muito aclamados no cenário artístico interdisciplinar. Além das tournées internacionais na Ásia, Europa, Oceania e América do Norte e América do Sul, ela é directora artística de “Ex … it!” (Dance Exchange Research Project, desde 1995), juntamente com Ra’i delta, em que mais de 100 artistas e estudantes de dança de todo o mundo participam.
Yumiko colabora com outras companhias como coreógrafa e bailarina. 2008 “The Song of Iris”, premier, em Atenas, dirigido por Rena Konstantaki 2008 “Three of a Kind sortes”, produzido pelo Teatro Rebis (Itália).
Desde 2003, ela tem trabalhado como júri em Schloss Broellin.
